Blessing Closet and School Supplies

The Blessing Closet at the Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo will be hosting a special back-to-school event on Saturday, August 20th.

The Blessing Closet will be providing free children’s clothing with no limitations inside the Blessing Closet building. Shoppers will need to sign a card listing their children and ages at check-in.

School supplies and backpacks will also be offered to all school-age children in grades K-12. The backpacks will be provided one-per child by the Salvation Army. The school supply and backpack distribution will be located inside the church at Zion’s Fellowship Hall.

Zion Lutheran Church is located on Highway 25 South in Buffalo.

Buffalo Food Shelf is dedicated to serving our community. With this in mind, we need volunteers. You have the ability to make a difference and we need you!

Open House

Buffalo Food Shelf Open House
August 7 , 2022 @ 12:00 pm-2:00 pm

Come have a cup of coffee & snack with us and see how the process works.

The food shelf operates with dedicated volunteers and your generous donations of food and funds.

We have families who receive our support each month and home-bound elderly people living on fixed incomes, single parents of school-age children, and working families struggling to make ends meet. They are our friends and neighbors, and they need our help!

Can your community group or business lend a hand? We greatly appreciate any support in collecting food and funds to help us. We will do our best to make it easy for you to hold your own food drives.

If you have any questions about the Buffalo Food Shelf feel free to email buffalofoodshelfvolunteer@gmail.com.
Thank you for your continuous support.

Community Breakfast

Thank you to those that joined us at the Community breakfast. We had around 100 people.

March Campaign

March Campaign is coming soon! It’s a great time to do a food or fund drive for the food shelf as we are eligible for additional funding based on the pounds of food and dollars we receive during the March Campaign.
GMCC’s Minnesota FoodShare began its work in 1982 as a campaign advanced by congregations to restock food shelves in the 7-county Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. The effort was so successful, and the need so evident, March Campaign became a statewide initiative just one year later and is now in its 41st year.

Holiday Train

CP this year will again broadcast a virtual concert and encourage Canadians and Americans to give generously to its Holiday Train program supporting food banks across our network.

CP President and CEO Keith Creel said, “While we are disappointed we again cannot bring the Holiday Train to communities, we are honored to run a virtual program and continue to support communities and food banks across our network as they work to address food insecurity in North America.”

Give to the Max

It’s here! Early Giving for Give to the Max began November 1 and will continue until #GTMD21 on Thursday, Nov. 18! Visit GiveMN.org to support your favorite Minnesota nonprofits and schools as we work together to raise millions of dollars during Minnesota’s giving holiday.

On behalf of the Buffalo Food Shelf families, we want to thank you for your generous contribution.  If it was not for you and the many caring and generous people like you, many of our neighbors would go without the basic necessity of food to feed their families.  It is through your generosity and the grace of God that we can continue in our mission to feed the hungry in our community

GTMD21 Kicks off tomorrow, November 1st with early giving!

All systems are a go for Give to the Max 2021! Beginning at midnight tonight, the Early Giving period begins to kick off this year’s edition of Minnesota’s giving holiday.

All donations beginning November 1 will count toward our Give to the Max totals and make us eligible for $500 Early Giving Golden Tickets awarded daily and the final $10,000 Super-Sized Golden Ticket awarded at the end of the big day!
