March Campaign

March Campaign is coming soon! It’s a great time to do a food or fund drive for the food shelf as we are eligible for additional funding based on the pounds of food and dollars we receive during the March Campaign.

GMCC’s Minnesota Food Share began its work in 1982 as a campaign advanced by congregations to restock food shelves in the 7-county Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. The effort was so successful, and the need so evident, March Campaign became a statewide initiative just one year later and is now in its 41st year.

It’s hard to believe one year has passed since the pandemic changed our lives—for many, in ways unimaginable.
Millions of people who never imagined they’d struggle to put food on the table are now seeking help from food banks because of COVID. Today, we estimate 42 million people may experience hunger in 2021 due to the economic fallout of the pandemic.

COVID-19 vaccine

Wright County residents looking to get the COVID-19 vaccine will soon have a much better opportunity to get in the line to get their shots – if they’re willing to drive a little bit. The River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud is opening this week. River’s Edge is the sixth permanent vaccination site in site, joining mass vaccination centers in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth, Bloomington and Rochester. Minnesotans can sign up to be alerted when they are eligible to receive the vaccine by signing up with the state’s Vaccine Connector https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/connector/
